Judith Turner Kunda (born 1933) is an American artist celebrated for her abstract paintings and mixed-media works that weave together textiles, collage, and layered surfaces. Influenced by natural structures and organic patterns, her art transforms materials into contemplative forms that invite viewers to experience both texture and atmosphere. Educated at UCLA, California State University Long Beach, Los Angeles Harbor College, and El Camino College, she built a practice rooted in exploration and discovery. Her work has been shown widely across California, including at Los Angeles Harbor College, El Camino College, Angel's Gate Cultural Center, and the Palos Verdes Art Center. Also a teacher, juror, and lecturer, Kunda emphasized art as a living process rather than a finished object. Since retiring from studio practice she has resided in assisted living, with her body of work continuing to speak for her—a testament to a lifelong devotion to experimentation, beauty, and form.
