Thomas L. Holcomb (1948-2007) was a Washington, D.C.-born artist who earned his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University and MFA from Southern Illinois University. His major focus was painting, with expertise in sculpture, lithography, and contemporary art history.

Throughout his career, Holcomb exhibited extensively at universities and galleries, including shows at Henri Gallery in Washington, D.C. He worked in diverse mediums including welding, casting, woodworking, and printmaking, maintaining his studio in Washington, D.C., until his passing in 2007. His work and papers are preserved in the Smithsonian Archives, ensuring his artistic legacy remains accessible for future generations.
