Madelyn E. Schwartz (1923-2013) was a Brooklyn-born artist who developed a unique style of abstract impressionistic painting characterized by softly muted tones inspired by nature. Born in New York City, Martin Sumers (1922-2012) studied at the University of Pennsylvania before establishing himself as a painter active from the early 1960s onward.
