Collection: Donald Haskin
Donald Haskin (July 28, 1920–November 15, 2011) was a sculptor and educator whose life was defined by ingenuity, teaching, and a love of making. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II before earning a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.F.A. from the Cranbrook Academy of Fine Arts. After teaching at the Walker Art Center and the University of California, Berkeley, he joined the University of Arizona in 1965, where he helped establish an experimental foundry and taught sculpture for twenty years, retiring as Professor Emeritus. He worked in bronze and aluminum using welding and lost-wax processes, exhibiting his work widely in the United States and Mexico.
