Bernard Segal (1907-1986) was a versatile American artist trained at the Art Students League in New York. He created the syndicated comic strip Hank and Honey for the New York Herald Tribune during the 1940s-50s before relocating to Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
In Bucks County, Segal joined the New Hope Modernists alongside artists like George Nakashima and Charles Evans. His most celebrated work came in the 1960s with vibrant abstract expressionist paintings and mixed media collages in oil, gouache, watercolor, and paper. He also taught at Rutgers University-Camden.
