A WPA artist during the late 1930s, Farruggio earned his first solo exhibition at New York's renowned Julien Levy Gallery through the Federal Art Project and later taught art in Detroit and Portland.\nBased in New York City and a longtime summer resident of Monhegan Island, Maine, Farruggio exhibited extensively in the United States, Mexico, and Italy.
